Piano Lessons & Accompaniment
I love piano and I love people - I want my students to love learning piano, enjoy their lessons and leave my music room feeling better than they did when they came in!
I offer piano lessons here in my home in Killinchy and also one day a week from my parents’ home in Antrim. I teach beginners to diploma students, typically no younger than six years old right up to... well, I think 72 years old might be the oldest student I’ve taught! Typically, we have half-hour lessons but when students get up to the higher grades, 45-minute lessons can be useful.
As part of preparing students for piano exams (typically ABRSM), I teach sight reading and aurals but I also do one-off aural lessons for students of other instruments, e.g. for singers or violinists preparing for exams. If you need an accompanist for a singing or instrumental exam or performance, give me a shout as I have over 20 years experience accompanying at all levels from initial right up to advanced diplomas.
I love teaching theory - although it gets tricky to find time in a half-hour lesson! - and I developed a crash course for Grade 5 theory (ABRSM). You can discover more about all these aspects by clicking on the menu bar above.
Thanks for having a look and don’t hesitate to ring me to chat about how I can help!
